Addressing the Learning Crisis
Despite the government’s dedicated efforts, gaps in education delivery and learning continue to persist in Jigawa State:
- 9 in 10 pupils in Primary 1-6 do not achieve foundational literacy
- 8 in 10 pupils in Primary 6 cannot perform basic arithmetic tasks
- Nearly 96% of teachers possess insufficient professional knowledge and skills
- On average, 13% of teachers are found to be absent from classrooms
By treating learning as a science and learning gaps as an emergency, JigawaUNITE will enable the government to rapidly transform public education, paving the path for a more equitable and prosperous society.
